Ecorbit is part of the Back & Safe Team - an initiative created in support of the South African government’s efforts to address the unprecedented disruptions that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused. Life as we knew it before the lock-down will never be quite the same and organizations and individuals must adapt to a new normal. This is especially true for the business sector, for government, and for the education sector in regard to re-opening the economy.
The aim and intended outcomes of the COVID-19 workplace management program (CWMP) is to ensure businesses/ employers are implementing the control measures to prevent the workplace transmission of COVID-19 that may result in occupational injury and ill-health and to provide safe and healthy workplaces.
The program is designed to be used by employers and businesses when making decisions about operations and employee and customer safety during the COVID-19 outbreak. The purpose of the assessment is to:
Provide simple ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace.
Provide a framework for businesses/employers to make risk-informed decisions about the operations of their businesses.
Determine employers/ businesses compliance with the relevant national regulations and international standards or recommendations in relation to COVID-19.
Grade and manage employees/ workers risk of occupational exposure to the COVID-19 virus as appropriate.
